Emily is joining DGSE while she is currently completing her Master of Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington, with a passion for residential projects and enhancing the way people live through considerate design. Emily was recently awarded the NZIOB Next Gen Award for her 2025 thesis proposal which focuses on modular prefabrication and circular economies to create adaptable and sustainable living spaces. Additionally, she received the Trimble Karahipi Hangarau / Technology Scholarship for her commitment to resilient innovation in the built environment.
With a background in biomaterial and sustainability research, Emily approaches design with a focus on adaptability, quality, and environmental responsibility. As VUW President of SANNZ – the student analogue of the NZIA, she plays a key part in connecting students with industry professionals through networking events. Dedicated to creating innovative designs, Emily brings a thoughtful, future-focused approach to every project, combining aesthetics with high functionality to support the evolving needs of communities while upholding sustainability.
