Matamoana has experience working across a range of projects including Workplace, Public and Community, as well various Multi-Unit Housing Developments, with a mix of Medium to High Density Dwellings at both urban and local scales.

He is a strong advocate for Indigenous-based knowledge and design, working on various cultural and co-design projects along with both Iwi & Mana whenua, realising Indigenous aspirations and delivering authentic and culturally successful design outcomes. Moana is a founding member of DGSE’s Indigenous Design Rōpū (IDR).

As a strong communicator, Moana clearly interprets client requirements into thoughtful and functional design that reflects both people and place. He is proficient with the latest software required to visually interpret briefs, including full 3D visualisation.
