Rupert joined DGSE’s Palmerston North Studio in January 2022 following completion of his first year of studies to gain his Diploma in Architectural Technologies. This move has greatly advanced his knowledge and skill set as he assists the Palmerston North team with various projects, such as Insurance reinstatements, weathertightness alterations, an early childcare centre refurbishment, and new Kāinga Ora developments.

Rupert’s design journey began in high school where he discovered enjoyment and satisfaction in designing, troubleshooting, detailing, and building bespoke furniture items. He maintained design as a hobby as he ventured through various industries such as agriculture, mining, and construction, ultimately redirecting his path into the design industry with some knowledge of those industries and the design requirements they may have.
