Wellington
In Progress
Housing
On completion, this significant Kāinga Ora project will provide 300 high quality, modern, public and affordable homes to house people in need in central Wellington. The project also addresses long awaited urban repair and renewal of the former Council housing complex.
Homes will provide for a range of tenants including families, those living alone, older people, and supported living homes for the city’s most vulnerable homeless. Typologies range from one-bedroom units to five-bedroom family homes. Significant sustainability initiatives will be incorporated including multi-storey timber frame construction, off-site prefabrication, and solar power.
Quality amenity areas complement the development and the adjacent neighbourhood, including shared streets, café/support services, and a centrally located community centre opening onto a generous, sunny neighbourhood park.
Landscaped play spaces offer a generous outdoor environment for children and young people.
