Strathmore House

Sited on a hilltop overlooking Lyall Bay, Evans Bay, and Pencarrow, the brief for this family home focused on maximising views and providing shelter from the exposed location.

The building form consists of two distinct features; a solid base which anchors into the surrounding landscape and houses a garage and study, and a pair of floating white elements that create both roof and floor for the living spaces. A concrete wall links both features to provide structure and enclosure.

Outdoor living spaces integrate into site terracing and building form, creating multiple outlooks and shelter to take advantage of sun and views.
