DGSE were commissioned to provide an interior fit-out for VUW’s new Computational Media Innovation Centre (CMIC).The fit-out functions as an incubator for digital design start-ups and an avenue for postgraduate Computer Graphics students to explore and develop their research.
The strong visual presence of guiding lines throughout the interior mirrors the movement of visitors and students through the space.
Selected colours reflect a theme of innovation in a digital environment. Pops of blue and purple offer opportunities to explore a tangible experience of the digital in physical form. Purple has long represented creativity and ambition, and the purple walls complement the drive of CMIC students, whilst also communicating a futuristic vision.
