Napier Port prides itself on its safety record. The new administration building supports this approach, with a dedicated entrance separating visitors from the heavy vehicles and machinery that operate nearby.

Sustainable design solutions were adopted including BMS controlling air-conditioning and electrical systems to facilitate ongoing monitoring of energy consumption. High efficiency double glazing, together with passive solar control, regulates internal working environments from external conditions. Precast concrete provides thermal mass to further support a sustainable design response.
